Our volunteers are the heart of our organization. It’s the dedication of our volunteers that makes our work possible — and there’s a place for you here, whatever your background.
WHY VOLUNTEER WITH LMC
Make a difference in your community
LMC volunteers have the unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of individuals, families, and organizations across our community. By helping resolve disputes and foster productive conversations, they empower others to move forward with clarity and confidence.
But at LMC, volunteering is about more than the work itself — it’s about building relationships, creating meaningful connections, and being part of a supportive and dynamic community.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just beginning your journey in mediation, there’s a place for you at LMC.
- 100% volunteer-powered mediation — all mediators donate their time and expertise
- Our team includes trained attorney mediators, professionals from diverse fields, and community members with a passion for resolution
- Founded in 2008 — one of only three nonprofit mediation centers in South Carolina
- Volunteer mediators are expected to take cases at least once every two months. LMC handles all document collection, preparation, and filing.
